Current high school students can experience college now! Enroll in Summer Sessions and gain credits toward your undergraduate degree. No matter what university you end up attending, you can prepare at Pitt. Best of all, with our flexible summer schedule, you can earn credits while still keeping your summer job or travel plans.
High school students wishing to enroll in summer classes must be registered with Accelerated High School (AHS) in the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences before registering for a summer course. Please call 412-624-7428 to register, or visit AHS for more information.
Qualified students, who must be at least 16 years of age and high school juniors or seniors, may take up to six credits on Pitt’s Oakland campus while continuing their high school program of study.
Tuition and fee rates can be found here. Regular credit charges and fees are assessed, and AHS students are eligible for the same benefits as any other University of Pittsburgh part-time student, such as access to libraries, gyms, and other campus facilities.
Summer enrollment begins February 15, 2016. The last day to apply for 12-week-1 and 6-week-1 sessions is April 4. The last day to apply for 6-week-2 is May 23. Please check the Summer Sessions calendar to find additional deadlines, when classes begin, the last day for add/drop, and other important dates.
A student’s temporary admission to AHS does not commit the University of Pittsburgh to grant regular/ongoing status as either a regular full- or part-time student.
PLEASE NOTE: Students who will be minors at the beginning of the term can only be registered for courses in which the instructor and teaching assistant have the required clearances to work with minors. Interested students should contact AHS at 412-624-7428 to discuss the application process, course options, requirements, and any other questions.
