George Bandik

Research Overview

Dr. Bandik received his Ph.D. in 1992 from the University of Pittsburgh under the direction of Professor Toby Chapman. Dr. Bandik received the Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award in 1993, the Carnegie Science Center Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1998, and the Bellet Teaching Award in 2001.

He currently teaches Organic I and II as well as Chemistry for Health Related Professions. He also teaches our Honors Organic Lab Course and our writing course for senior majors. His interests involve chemistry education and outreach. In this capacity he is involved in our Honors Organic High School Program, the Saturday Science Academy, and the local High School Olympics. Dr. Bandik is also faculty advisor to our award winning American Chemical Society-Student Affiliates.
