Why did you become a tutor?
Organic Chemistry has a stigma of being an impossible class so students go in with the mindset that they won't succeed. However, I loved Organic Chemistry and I want to help more students be successful in the class to break that stigma.

What is your favorite thing about the subject in which you tutor?
I love that it is a combination of memorization and problem-solving. You get to be creative! The best feeling is solving a synthesis, figuring out the arrow-pushing mechanism, or finally understanding why something occurs.

What is the best study tip you have for a student taking one of the courses you tutor?
Start studying well before the exam - keep up with the material while you are learning it. Make sure you truly understand the material while you are studying it instead of just memorizing it, and do plenty of practice problems to confirm your understanding.

Why should students come to Study Lab?
Tutors are a great resource on campus that students should take advantage of. They are there to help you succeed in your classes and can teach you great new learning and study methods that you can apply on your own.
