Why did you become a tutor?
I became a tutor to help other students find the best study techniques that work for them so that they may apply this when approaching homework or exams.
What is your favorite thing about the subject in which you tutor?
My favorite thing about physics is that these concepts are applicable in many academic fields and also every aspect of life. I also love problems with electric circuits because the diagrams can be like puzzles that you have to solve systematically and result in a satisfying answer at the end.
What is the best study tip you have for a student taking one of the courses you tutor?
The best study tip that I have for students taking physics is to really make sure you understand the overarching concepts because if you can visualize what is happening in a given problem, then you can combine and modify the basic equations given in lecture to create more efficient equations to solve those problems quickly.
Why did you seek out tutoring?
I sought out tutoring services because I was struggling to understand a fundamental concept discussed in lecture, but talking through it with a peer tutor who had taken the class with the same professor as me really helped me fill in the spaces within my understanding as they were able to help me navigate the professor's teaching methods.
