The Community-Centered Computing is an undergraduate learning community designed for students who want to explore computing not just as a technical field, but as a human-centered and socially meaningful practice. In this academic community, students will develop core technical skills through taking a programming course at the School of Computing and Information, while also engaging with perspectives from the humanities and social sciences, through taking the Digital Humanity course from the English Department. Through these experiences, the AC prepares students to gain technical knowledge while also empowering them to become thoughtful designers, and researchers who understand the broader social world the emerging technologies will influence. | 7 credits
