Gretchen Langhoff

Undergraduate Mentor

Hello! My name is Gretchen and I am a third year History of Art and Architecture and Museum Studies double major from Massachusetts. I am working on three minors in Chemistry, Studio Arts, and Mediterranean Art and Archeology. Previously I was awarded the Archival Scholars Research Award to work with the artists' books collection in the Frick Fine Arts Library. While researching these books, I discovered the value of the tactile experience and how it impacts the story of the book for the reader. In an effort to create a more accessible space for artists' books, I also explored the possibility of digitizing the tactility of the artists' books. Currently, I am a UTA for the FA-R program, and hope to pass on my knowledge of research proposals, resumes, cover letters, and grant applications to other undergraduates. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions regarding research in the humanities as I know they can be underrepresented in the scope of research perceived in pop culture.
