Jasmin Sawhney

Undergraduate Mentor

Hi everyone! My name is Jasmin and I’m from Jersey. I am a third-year Neuroscience major on the pre-med track, with a minor in chemistry and a certificate in the Conceptual Foundations of Medicine. I am passionate about research and teaching, specifically helping my peers in succeeding in both academics and their goals. My first research was under Dr. Zuzana Swigonova where I worked to develop interactive 3D models of protein structures which could be used to improve hands-on learning in classrooms. I was fortunate enough to receive the Chancellor’s Undergraduate Research Fellowship for this and present my work at the National Conference of Undergraduate Research. For the last year and a half, I have also been a part of the Kline Lab, which has given me the opportunity to investigate rehabilitative therapies following traumatic brain injury. This past summer I received the CNUP Fellowship, allowing me to work full time with the team to lead a project focusing on using Music Therapy as a non-invasive method of treatment and I will be presenting this work in California at the SfN Neuroscience 2025 conference. I am excited to work with you all and help you get started on your exciting research journey. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or want to chat!
