Scheduling Appointments with Navigate Student

If you would like to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor in the Dietrich School or College of General Studies, you will need to utilize Navigate Student (Pathways), either on their website or by using the Navigate Student app. Our front desk staff can also assist you with appointment scheduling if you would like to call us at (412) 624-6444 during normal business hours.

Using the Navigate Student website:

You can login to Navigate Student (Pathways) on the web by searching for "Navigate Student" on your My Pitt homepage or by clicking on this direct link. You will need to login using your University username and password and go through the two-factor authentication process to access Navigate Student.

On your dashboard, you should see a blue Schedule an Appointment button. Click on that button to go to the New Appointment screen.

  • If you are assigned to a specific academic advisor(s), you can click on Meet with Your Success Team to go directly to your advisor(s)' availability.
  • Otherwise, under "Choose the type of support you need" select Undergraduate Advising.
  • Under "What service would you like to schedule for?" type DSAS or CGS depending on whether you are a student in the Dietrich School or College of General Studies. You will then see the available meeting types.
  • Today's date is the default search option, but you can select a future date if you prefer.
  • On the next screen, you will see the available location(s) and times for your preferred service type. Select the day and time that works best for you or use the filters on the left side of the page to narrow down your options.
  • Once you select an appointment, you will go to the Review Detail screen. Please review the details and click on Schedule at the bottom to confirm your appointment.
  • A confirmation email will be sent to your University email account with in-person or virtual meeting information as appropriate. Be sure to check the "Other" section of your email inbox. If you do not receive a confirmation email, then your appointment was not successfully scheduled.

Using the Navigate Student app on your iOS or Google device:

You will need to search for and download the Navigate Student app via your applicable app store. Once you download the app, you will need to search for "University of Pittsburgh" and sign in with your username and password and complete the two-factor authentication. If it is your first time using the app, you will be prompted to fill out a short survey about your academic experiences and interests.
