Students often believe they do not have enough time to study for exams, participate in extracurriculars, have jobs, and have a social life. This time calculator will help you understand how you are organizing your time throughout the week. Begin by entering the number of credits you are taking and how you are currently spending your time. Once you have done that, you can use the calculator to see how small changes can help you organize your time more efficiently. Check out our other time management tools to help you implement these changes!
NOTE: The calculator automatically calculates your class and study time based on the number of credits you are taking. It is assumed that each credit hour equals one hour of class time and three hours of study time. This assumption is based on the idea that for every hour you are in class, you should spend about 2-3 hours studying outside of class. You can adjust this if you believe you are taking a class that requires less than this ratio but we encourage students to consider budgeting this amount of time first. The calculator also assumes that you will be getting 8 hours of sleep each night for a total of 56 hours per week. This should remain the same! Getting enough sleep is one of the most important things you can do to improve your time management.
