Drop-in Mentoring Hours

During the specified drop-in times, Undergraduate Mentors are available in Posvar 1400 (next to home plate!) to meet one-on-one with students about undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activity.

Curiosity Hours

Undergraduate Mentors will be available to meet in a more informal environment for open discussions about undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activity. Meetings will take place in Posvar 1400. 

Dates for Fall meetings are the following Wednesdays from 5 - 7pm:

  • September 24
  • October 15
  • November 19

Panel Discussions with the Undergraduate Mentors

The Undergraduate Mentors from the Office of Undergraduate Research are peer-to-peer mentors who work to assist fellow undergraduates as they embark on a research journey at Pitt. They are available to speak with you no matter what stage of the research process you are in: turning your curiosity into a specific question, connecting with a faculty mentor, or applying for opportunities to present research. This panel discussion will cover commonly asked questions, answer questions that you bring to the session, and share unique opportunities that the OUR offers.

First Experiences in Research (FE-R) Virtual Information Sessions

Attendance at a virtual information session is required to apply for the FE-R Program. During the info session, the OUR staff will walk through the program details and the application process. There will be time at the end of the session for a Q&A.
